What they branded 'deliberately reckless' is considered perfectly safe, legal and normal not only in other countries, but on some roads in Australia's Northern Territory, which has just announced it will completely derestrict a section of one of its Outback highways again.

I don't think for a moment that we have the perfect approach to speed in the UK, but suddenly, driving here doesn't seem as bad. Just as well: I might not be driving in Australia again.
